A senior delegation from Prime Fertilizers Maldives Pvt. Ltd. visited Yara Malaysia’s office on 10 March 2025, to deepen their long-standing collaboration and explore new opportunities to better serve Maldivian farmers.
The Prime Maldives team, led by Managing Director Ahmed Shiyaz Ibrahim, included Business Development Director Niyaz Ibrahim, Logistics and Operations Manager Ibrahim Suneel, and Sales and Marketing Manager Mohamed Zahid. They met with Yara Malaysia’s senior leadership, including Country Manager Nicholas Gan and Senior Sales and Technical Executive Edward Lee, to discuss expanding their partnership.
The focus of the meeting was on introducing a broader range of Yara products to the Maldivian market, aiming to provide farmers with advanced crop nutrition solutions that could enhance agricultural productivity. Additionally, both sides discussed ways to strengthen Yara’s support for Maldivian farmers through specialized training and technical guidance.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured Yara Malaysia’s warehouse and distribution facilities, gaining valuable insights into the efficient logistics and operational systems that ensure top-quality fertilizer distribution.

Prime Fertilizers Maldives has been an authorized distributor of Yara products since January 2022. This collaboration has been instrumental in providing Maldivian farmers with high-quality fertilizers that improve crop yields and support sustainable farming practices.
In recent years, Prime Maldives has worked closely with Yara Asia and Yara Malaysia to ensure the availability of innovative agricultural solutions in the Maldives. Previous collaborations have focused on knowledge exchange, logistical support, and technical training initiatives aimed at empowering local farmers.
Managing Director Ahmed Shiyaz Ibrahim emphasized the importance of the ongoing collaboration in providing Maldivian farmers with top-tier agricultural inputs and expertise.
“Our meeting with Yara Malaysia was extremely productive, as we explored ways to further enhance our partnership and offer innovative solutions to Maldivian farmers. We remain committed to working alongside Yara to improve training programs and equip our farmers with the knowledge and tools to achieve greater success,” said Shiyaz.
