As part of its continued commitment to sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship, Prime Fertilizers Maldives Pvt. Ltd. has donated Effective Microorganisms (EM™) to the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare to support soil health improvement and eco-friendly farming practices.
The donation was formally handed over to Hon. Minister Dr. Mariyam Mariya during a ceremony held at the Ministry, attended by State Minister Ahmed Hassan Didi, senior ministry officials, and representatives from Prime Fertilizers Maldives including Managing Director Ahmed Shiyaz Ibrahim and Business Development Director Niyaz Ibrahim.
Effective Microorganisms (EM™) is a carefully balanced consortium of naturally occurring beneficial microorganisms, including lactic acid bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, and yeast. EM is widely used around the world to improve soil health, enhance nutrient availability, suppress harmful microorganisms, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

During the event, Minister Dr. Mariyam Mariya thanked Prime Fertilizers Maldives for the donation and acknowledged the company’s active role in supporting agricultural development and farmer empowerment across the country.
Addressing the gathering, Managing Director Ahmed Shiyaz Ibrahim stated that the EM donation reflects Prime Fertilizers Maldives’ commitment to supporting the Ministry’s efforts to improve soil health and sustainable farming practices. He emphasized that Prime Fertilizers Maldives will continue to work alongside the Ministry to support national goals for agriculture sector development.
