Prime Maldives Empowers Farmers with Hands-On Training in Sh. Maaungoodhoo

Continuing its mission to enhance agricultural practices across the Maldives, Prime Maldives conducted a highly impactful training program in Sh. Maaungoodhoo from 5th to 9th December 2024. Organized in collaboration with the Beyond Imaginative Optimistic Nifty Island Club (BIONIC), the program attracted 46 enthusiastic participants eager to acquire practical farming skills and techniques.

This training program is part of Prime Maldives’ "Namoona Dhanduveriya" initiative, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project designed to promote sustainable and innovative farming methods across the Maldives. The sessions in Maaungoodhoo focused on essential hands-on topics, including composting, soil preparation, and organic pesticide preparation, equipping participants with tools to enhance productivity while minimizing environmental impact.

The interactive format of the training allowed participants to engage directly with the topics, making the learning process both practical and applicable. The comprehensive sessions on composting and soil preparation emphasized sustainable approaches to maintaining soil health, while the organic pesticide preparation module provided valuable alternatives to chemical-based pest control.

Speaking about the training, the secretary general of BIONIC expressed gratitude for the collaboration and highlighted its importance:

“This training has been incredibly valuable for our community. The practical knowledge shared by Prime Maldives will undoubtedly empower our participants to adopt more sustainable and effective agricultural practices.”

Prime Maldives remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing local agriculture through education and skill-building programs. To date, the Namoona Dhanduveriya initiative has successfully trained 778 farmers across the Maldives, fostering a culture of sustainable farming and creating lasting positive impacts in local communities.

By providing communities like Maaungoodhoo with the knowledge and tools to adopt eco-friendly and efficient farming techniques, Prime Maldives reinforces its vision of a greener and more resilient agricultural future for the Maldives.

Prime Maldives continues to expand its reach, bringing impactful training sessions to islands across the nation and strengthening its role as a leader in promoting sustainable agriculture.
