Prime Maldives, in association with Hdh. Kurinbee Council and Kurinbee Youth Movement, has conducted an agriculture training program in Hdh. Kurinbee.
The three day training program was conducted from 04th November to 06th November 2021. A total of 36 farmers and home gardeners participated and completed the training program. The training delivered by a team from Prime Maldives led by the Head of Marketing and Technical Services at Prime Maldives Mr. Mohamed Zahid.
The program was conducted under “Namoona Dhan’duveriyaa” program initiated by Prime Maldives. The aim of the program is to create farmers whose good practices and approach to farming will help others to get inspired by them and consequently start following their footsteps as envisaged in the title of the training program “Namoona Dhan’duveriyaa” which literally means “a Role Model Farmer”.
"In the past we have had few such training programs but this training program is well beyond our expectations." said Fiureena Mohamed, a participant of the training program.
"With this training program we have learned a lot about modern farming techniques. I will start growing using those techniques I have learned from the training program" said another participant of the training program, Fathimath Shakeeba.
“Namoona Dhanduveriya” program is a CSR initiative of Prime Maldives to help advance the farming and agriculture in the Maldives, delivered free as part of its philosophy of giving back to the society. According to Mr. Niyaz Ibrahim, Director of Business Development at Prime Maldives, “This opportunity is available for all communities of the country”.
So far Prime Maldives has trained 210 farmers and home gardeners under the "Namoona Dhanduveriya" program.
