Awarded by the Shaviyani Atoll Council, the project involves the supply and installation of two cutting-edge, 1000-square-foot greenhouses equipped with advanced AutoPot systems from the United Kingdom.
Currently, 85% of the project has been completed, with Prime Fertilizers' expert team working diligently to finalize the installation. These high-quality, durable greenhouses feature modern advancements, including buffer rooms and top ventilation for optimal air circulation, ensuring a superior environment for crop growth.
As part of the project, Prime Fertilizers will provide comprehensive training to local farmers on how to cultivate crops using the AutoPot system. The first crop planned for cultivation is cucumber, a staple in the Maldives' agricultural sector. This training aims to equip farmers with the knowledge and skills required to maximize yields while adopting sustainable and efficient farming practices.
At the heart of this project is the AutoPot system, a revolutionary, energy-efficient watering solution from AutoPot UK. Unlike conventional irrigation methods, AutoPot systems require no power, pumps, mains water pressure, or timers. Instead, they rely solely on gravity from a reservoir, making them ideal for sustainable agriculture.
The system's innovation lies in the AQUAvalve technology, which allows plants to control their own watering. When the plant's water supply is depleted, the AQUAvalve automatically refills the container, ensuring that the plants receive just the right amount of hydration and nutrients.
