Prime Maldives, in association with Utheemu Council, Women's Development Committee, Utheemu United and Uthuru Sports Club has conducted an agriculture training program in the Haa Alifu Utheemu. The training program was conducted under the "Namoona Dhan'duveriya" program initiated by Prime Maldives.
According to the Island Council, they have initiated a program to promote agriculture in the island and increase the agricultural production. "We need to increase the agricultural production. For this we need to train our farmers. We are glad that Prime Maldives has helped us" said the President of the council, Mr. Abdulla Rasheed.
The three day training program was conducted from 10th October to 12th October 2021.
"We got so many information and we are ready to implement what we learned in our fields" told a participant of the training program.
Prime Maldives "Namoona Dhan’duveriyaa” program is a CSR initiative of Prime Maldives to help advance the farming and agriculture techniques in the Maldives.
With the noble objective of helping to ensure food security in the Maldives, Prime Maldives started as a supplier of agricultural inputs. The operation that started with a 20-feet container of cow manure, has since grown and diversified to a supplier of a wide range of products to different markets.
